Studying Atmospheric Science at the University of Helsinki

I lived in Finland with my parents when I was small, so I knew I wanted to come back here to do my Master’s degree. And now I live in a HOAS apartment with three Finnish girls, and I like it. And getting my apartment was quite easy.

I like the education level here. I’m doing a Nordic Masters Degree, so I’ve studied in Sweden, Germany and Denmark as well, and I like Finland the best. The teachers are more organised and the courses are more challenging and at a higher level. I like the teachers better and I think I learn more here. I just feel like it makes more sense for me.

And I love living in Helsinki. It’s calm, but there are lots of clubs and cafes and I just feel like I can just do my thing here. For my Bachelor’s I was living on the University campus and it felt very safe and comfortable, and that’s how the whole city feels. You can get around really easily and it’s safe and comfortable and a very nice place to live as a student.

I’ve somehow always felt more like a foreigner in the other cities I’ve lived in, but you really don’t feel that here in Helsinki. It’s a really nice and foreign-friendly place to live!
